Welcome to JS Photography.
Hi, my name is John Scarpa. I started JS Photography in 2005. My clients include Gannett Company Inc., The Courier News, The Home News Tribune, The Community Courier, MyCentralJersey.com, Life Touch High School Year Books, Century 21, Annies Playhouse and Liar Liar Jeans. I also freelance as a wedding and fashion photographer. I am a member of the National Press Photographers Association and The New Jersey Press Association.
The images you see are a collection from recently completed assignments and past projects. I began my career in photography working at the Bernards High School newspaper. My assignments include photographing sports, theater, fashion shows, school news, and student portraits. On one of those assignments I met a photographer from the Courier News. He asked to see my work and offered me a freelance position with the newspaper. Since that time my pictures have appeared in a number of New Jersey publications.
My photography education includes over 200 hours of study at The Maine Media Workshop in Rockport Maine, The Nikon School in New York City and two years of Visual Arts and Journalism classes at Bernards High School. I am currently enrolled in an Honors photography program and I am a Teachers Assistant in Visual Arts. This summer I plan to work as photographic intern at The Maine Media Workshops. Next fall I will enter college to study Photojournalism. My goal is to graduate and be employed as a photojournalist by a major newspaper, magazine or media outlet.
Photographic Services Include: Weddings, Engagement sessions, School Portraits, Special Occasions, Modeling, Real Estate Listings, Youth & Professional Sports, Theater and Fashion.
All of the images you see on my website are available to purchase. Click on the image you like and add it to your shopping cart. I hope you have enjoyed visiting JS Photography. Please come back soon to see my latest pictures, you just might be in one of them.
